  • Thanks! It looks just like the kind of "Arcade joystick" in my mind. I might just end up buying one.

  • Thanks for all the replies, sorry I didn't reply to every one but I read them all, keep them coming please!

I am glad to hear joysticks are still popular in some circles.

    Some more random thoughts:

I mostly play 4X games or other casual games nowadays where mouse and keyboard suffices or is better suited. The most recent time I spent significant time with a gamepad is Zelda OoT on an emulator. I can probably play that with a joystick I think, but some of its mini-game might need finer control with an analog stick.

Aside from fighting games, I can imagine playing 2D shooters with a joystick. Metroidvania games too, but some of them have functions assigned to so many buttons I'm not sure a joystick has enough.

  • Thanks, I have to look that up. I think I might have seen them on on line stores but did not look closely to recognize them for what they were. I thought they were for games that doesn't need stick control, like music game or such.

    What happened to (arcade-type) Joysticks?

  • I think they're the one of the ooh no we need to respect our visitors -- sike, blocked! gang

Are you in Europe? Might be a GDPR thing. Yahoo Japan does that as well.

Added Internet Archive link, can you access that?

I do hope this fires off some additional patlabor stuff though

Patlabor EZY part 1 is in Japanese theaters right now and this manga can be considered one of the promotion for it (the story happens between the end of the old manga and the movie).

  • I think they just learned that capitulating to the bully only brings more bullying, not to mention pissing off your customers in the process.

  • She has a Clippy fetish?

  • I wonder if they do it on phones as well. Not everyone has a 256GB+ device, and 4GB would be a significant chunk on even that.

  • Yes Google intended to stop sideloading but is facing backlash.

  • I'd like to use a aliexpress M.2 to RJ45 adapter on the Chromebook.

Make sure it is of the right kind. M.2 Wi-Fi slots are key E, M.2 SSD slots are key M (mostly) and cards made for 1 kind does not fit the other.

If the slot is for Wi-Fi it should have PCIe as that is what most Wi-Fi modules connect to. USB is used for Bluetooth mostly.

  • Making you question reality that you can see with your own eyes is the definition of Gaslighting isn't it?

  • Wait, I thought Japan is going to have a driver shortage as the government was moving to limit driver work hours for safety?

  • Nitro+ is Sapphire's flagship model but they chose to use that connector which is unfortunate in my opinion. They do have other models of 9070XT with the old 8 pin connectors.

It is not the end of the world if you have to use a card with 12V-2x6, they are on all current gen nVidia cards and they don’t all melt. I’m just saying for AMD cards you can choose to avoid it for the peace of mind as the old 8 pin connector is much less likely to melt (though not completely unheard of).

  • For 9070XT, just don’t get the version with the 12V-2x6 / 12VHPWR connector, save some worrying over whether it will burn some day.

  • Refresh should be handled by the hardware and should not need OS support once the video mode is set. This sounds like they added support for decoding higher refresh rates reported by monitors in their EDID so that those video modes can show up and be selected by users.

  • Shogakukan’s Manga ONE Reports New Author Appointment Issue and Establishes Independent Investigation Committee

Shogakukan further addressed the case of Tatsuki Matsuki, who previously wrote the original story for Act-Age serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, and who has been writing The Counselor Through Years and Stars (JP: 星霜の心理士, Seisou no Shinrishi) for Manga ONE under the different pen name Miki Yatsunami. ……

The company stated that before making the appointment, it confirmed that the verdict had been finalized and that the suspended sentence period had expired. It also reviewed his expressions of remorse regarding the incident, efforts toward preventing recurrence, and the status of professional support for social reintegration. These factors were discussed internally before the decision was made.
