why youtube but not patreon?

I’m trying to figure out video on lemmy. my self hosted videos were completely ignored but i found the divergent attitude towards youtube and patreon to be amusing.

patreon has no ads, can be viewed without login, and blocking trackers doesn’t break it.

ill just keep posting youtube, i was just trying to avoid the googles.
